Lila aka Jada

Jada (now Lila) (sorry – we changed her name!) is doing great – she is
such a good girl – easy and eager to please – she learns very quickly and is
definitely watching Colin for cues…. On the way home from your house on
Wed we stopped at Buckmaster pond in Westwood for some swimming. We let her
carefully examine the water and wade in – after a little while we tossed in
a stick – just far enough to get her belly wet – and she went right in after
it – she walked right in and brought it back. I think she will be a quite a
swimmer someday …….

We spent this past weekend at the beach in Humarock – so many new things to
smell ! but she’s not so sure about those big waves her brother goes
bounding into…..

She is doing Very Well with her crate training – the first night she fussed
for about 5 minutes – but settled right down – she was exhausted
same the second night…….
now if she whines in the crate we know she needs to go out…..
We’re feeding her in the crate and tossing in fun stuff so she knows she can
go in and come right back out again…….I’ve even caught her going in on
her own a couple of times……. I don’t think she will ever love the crate
like Colin did – but she is doing very well with it

She is a very good girl and we are officially in love with her! I got some
good pictures of her and Colin playing – but I can’t find the cord to get
them into the computer – I’ll dig it out and send some photos soon

Thank-you for your part in bringing such a great pup to New England where
she could have a good home.

Gabby aka Bitzer

Just a little over a week ago, my husband and I adopted Bitzer.  She is a 6 month old Australian Shepherd / Catahoula mix who was abandoned when her previous owners moved.  I saw her picture on and immediately contacted PMM.  Lynn from PMM responded right away, directing me to Bitzer’s foster mom, Elizabeth, in Jackson TN.  Not even an hour after I first emailed her, Elizabeth called me and we continued contact on a daily basis until the the adoption was finalized and Bitzer had arrived in MA.
Having lost our 14 year old terrier mix last December, I was a bit concerned about how our 9 year old German Shepherd, HooDoo, would react to a puppy, but Bitzer has already won his heart along with ours, although he can’t always keep up with her.  She is an amazing little dog: smart (already learning commands) and affectionate in addition to being very cute!!  Check her out in her Old Navy flag t-shirt – all ready for the 4th!  Also: relaxing (a rare moment…lol) with HooDoo.
My experience with PMM was positive from the onset, and we are so thrilled with our little girl that we plan to adopt another down the road.  Thanks so much to Lynn, Elizabeth, and everyone at PMM!!!

**Update: Jul 2, 2007
Kylie is doing WONDERFUL! We are so happy with her, she is such a good dog and did so well with the trainer, she’s a very well behaved and mannored pooch! I think she has gotten a little bigger and her adult coat came in and she is a very shiney black. Still very soft! She loves to snuggle! She chews her toys like crazy, but so far, just toys. Yay! She loves stuffed animals and has 4! She’s been to the water a few times at local ponds and lakes, she’s very interested but hasnt made it past her belly yet. But I’m sure if I am in the water she will follow, as she does everywhere else. She loves the car and going to my parents house up in NH. Well, Thank you all so much for your help in bringing her home to us! We are so greatful to have her!

We just wanted to give you a little update on Kylie (formerly Gracie), she is doing GREAT! She knows her name and has stopped rolling over to show her belly as much. She’s been sleeping through the nights and hasnt had any accidents in the house! We all have our first apointment with Dan the trainer tomorrow night so hopefully he will help us with the leash pulling and some basic comands. She’s very eager to please and learn. She’s already got sit and she’s been going in and out of the crate in the kitchen on her own. She has a big round bed in the TV room and if you give her a toy or treat in the kitchen and say “Kylie, bring it to your bed” she waits at the gate to be let out and runs to her bed to chew away. And her crying has stopped when we leave the room. It’s been pretty rainy since we got her so we are looking forward to meeting some other dogs when the weather gets nicer, she is so anxious to meet the dog that lives above us! Well I just wanted to let you all know she is settling in just great and Matt and I couldnt be happier! Thank you all so much!
