Skipper now known as Luca

Just wanted to thank you once again for helping me find Skipper aka Luca (we changed his name to Luca).  He is already getting along great with his big brother Harley and the two are already inseparable.  I was shocked at how quickly the little fur ball opened up!  As soon as I got home and introduced the two they started playing with their toys together (within minutes!!!!)!  The two together are quite the troublemakers, they have taken all the toilet paper off the roll, taken alllll the clean clothes out of the laundry basket and have grabbed anything they could get their paws on, but I love em!!!

hunter (fred)

We love Hunter (Fred).  He is very affectionate and adorable and he gets along with everyone so far.  Hunter is still teething but he is a wonderful puppy and doing very well with his house training.

Lil Bear (now Nemo)

Lil Bear is doing fantastic, going to meet his vet today (same one I used for my last dog), but, his name isn’t Lil Bear any longer. The 2nd day I had him I took him down to the beach on a 25 ft training lead. We were fooling around with a piece of tire he found and he’d run after it for a bit and then ignore it, suddenly he saw the ducks and plowed into the water. While he was paddling around I threw the piece of tire about 5 ft in front of him and it disappeared under the water. Suddenly I realized, NO DOG, my heart damn near stopped and then, just like a submarine, he broke the surface of the water with the tire in his mouth and I said “OK Captain Nemo”. So that’s his name . . NEMO. He’s responding extremely well to training, he’ll sit on hand command, come when called and (for a puppy) has great house manners. The only problem he has is he’s scared to death of other dogs and cats, the first time he saw a dog he did a backwards somersault, ripped off his leash and I wound up having to tackle him, he calmed down eventually but is still extremely frightened of moving objects. Towards the end of this week he seems to be getting more confident. When I first started letting him out in the yard he would stop halfway out the door, tail between his legs and sniff the air. Now he bounds out the door, head high, ears square and tail straight out so I know he’s saying “Hey, this is MY YARD.” I’m going to continue with the crate for a couple more weeks, he sleeps there at night and whenever I had to dash out. I live in a very small cottage but, already, whenever I go from one room to the next .. . he’s right there beside me. He’s happy, I’m happy, we’re happy together. Sorry about changing his name, but he picked it, not me.
Sincerely,
Joseph

Luna

Question or Comment THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH for the joy of Luna!!!! She is really the best of the lot! She is very happy, inquisitive, smart, obedient, and full of energy. Not to mention the cutest thing ever. She loves her daily long walks, playing tug of war, Mr.Cow ( her favorite squeaky toy, chewing on her bones, snuggling, and meeting all the other dogs in the neighborhood. Everywhere I go people stop and stare and then rush up to play with her and love on her. She runs up to everyone, rolls on her back and wants a tummy rub!! We were really excited to get her, but obviously apprehensive as we are young and have never raised a puppy alone–but she has made it so easy–we can\’t even remember life without her! She is in doing phenomenal in puppy class and we are excited for the many days to come!!

Cliff

just a quick  note to tell you all how absolutely wonderful and ideal and perfect and lovely and handsome and sweet and funny and caring and perfect and polite and dear and perfect and adorable and loving and perfect this dog really is - cliff has taken a bit of time to warm up here, not to me so much as to some of the “others,” but with each passing day, he seems to realize that he isn’t getting shipped off and he settles in a bit more, becomes more playful, more relaxed, more secure, more alpha.
he sleeps on a rug in my room (where he has collected socks), and he does not move in the morning until  he hears my feet hit the floor…then he comes over and puts his head on my lap.  what a doll!  as for being territorial, he is that.  my beau was here, and cliff had no problem chewing his glasses into little bits - lens and all - it was all taken in good humor, of course - and he seems to take particular joy in mischievous acts of this kind.  he has a definite personality, very, very distinctive.  my 3-year old niece was here last weekend, and she crawled all over him - he just inched his way closer to me, but he never reacted poorly - just let her do it.
he is the DREAM DOG, and i am constantly stopped in public areas and asked about him as he is so handsome (i make sure that i walk him with the petmatchmaker.com leash, of course), and to be honest, he doesn’t really need a leash - he stays right next to me - or runs ahead in the woods and right to me or right in the back of the car when i call.
i adore him (and coming from me, that is saying an awful lot)…thank you.
we all think he is fabulous!
best, phyllis
