Kai aka Princess

Just wanted to give you guys an update on Kai formally known as princess. Kai is settling in just fine. She is curious of the two cats and gets upset when they wont play with her. She has made a new friend or two in the neighborhood and goes on play dates at least once a day. She gets along with everyone she meets including her two new brothers *see 2 year old sharing his milk!* although she nibbles on them if they are not careful. I believe it is all in good fun.

We are still having a couple accidents, but hopefully they will work themselves out and we will learn her cues to go out. She also has a liking for all toys that are on the floor hers or not. Makes me clean up a lot more which is a good thing.

So she is doing good and getting more comfortable everyday so much that my husband had to sleep on the couch last night because she was with me in bed in front of the fan! She doesn’t give up the bed easily!!!

I will definitely keep her on it, as well as Frontline. She is also
on Ivermectin for mange and has gotten her otherwise ok from her new vet (he
said she “is everything he likes to see in a puppy”). She is so amazing. I
love her more than words can say. She has gone on so many adventures with me
– beach, boat rides, car rides, walks, hikes, jogs… She is seriously my
new best friend. She is adjusting so well. I tell everyone she is the
perfect mix of a crazy, rambunctious puppy and a chill dog. I think she is
very happy. She can already “sit,” “lay down,” “shake,” “come,” and “stay.”
We’re working on “off” and “no bite” because she gets very excited when she
meets new people. Her crate training has gone really well too. She sleeps
very willingly in her crate at night, and we have only had a half a dozen or
so accidents. Haven’t had any for a week or so. She is getting much better
at telling us when she needs to go out. I am so grateful to all of you at
petmatchmaker and have told SO many people where I found her. I am so in
love. Seriously, I couldn’t have asked for a better puppy. Thank you. I wish
I could adopt 100 more.

Take care and please keep in touch!

Casey aka Iris

We just had to write to thank our foster family for uniting us with such a great dog.  We have had Iris aka Casey for a week now and she is the best dog!!  We have four young children and she thinks she is our fifth child.  Last night we were getting ready for bed and Casey was not answering us. We looked in the kids\’ bedroom and Casey was curled up next to our 3 year old in his bunk bed sound asleep.  She loves romping around our acres of farm land with the kids, but always come back when called.  We took her to our second home in NH and she was better behaved than the kids during the car ride and loved pouncing around the river!!  Our vet was very impressed at all the paperwork she came with and how healthy she was for a rescue dog.  Our other dog is a 15 year old springer and Casey follows him around like a little girl and her grandpa!!!  Everyone who has met casey comments on what a great looking dog she is they can\’t believe she is not a purebread.  We will send some pix when we get them downloaded.  Thanks again to our foster family and to this great organization.  We are huge fans of matchmaker.  You united us with a great new addition to our family!!

We recently had to put our family Springer Spaniel to sleep.   We found your website during a visit to PETCO.  After a few days of searching, we finally found a picture of a dog everyone thought looked cute.  We emailed the foster family listed and were thrilled to get her immediate reply with more information on Casey.  We had never even heard of a Coonhound, but Joanne the foster mother was very helpful and suggested that we bring our four young children over to meet the dog.  We fell in love immediately!!  After the paperwork was finalized we brought her home.  She has been the perfect dog.  She plays non-stop with our four kids, is gentle and respectful to our 15 yr old dog, and mixes right in with all the commotion that goes along with 4 kids under the age of 6!!  We can’t believe how healthy and well-behaved she is.  Our vet was very impressed with all of the information and paperwork the petmatchmaker provides to the forever families!!  Although we miss our dog that died, our new addition certainly has helped to make the loss not as sad (she keeps us so busy we don’t have time to be sad!!)  We never thought we would find another dog who would fit in with our family so easily, but petmatchmaker made the perfect match.  Casey has gone from a kill shelter in Tennesse to roaming our fields, swimming in the river, boating, and weekend trips to her new second home in New Hampshire - What more could a dog or a family ask for?!

Thank you,
The Bouressa Family!!
